Best Sitting Position for Hemorrhoids

There is no single cause of hemorrhoids. Most often though, hemorrhoids are caused by too much pressure on the anal canal. However, this can be cured using the right hemorrhoid ointments. Hemorrhoids can be due to:

  • Chronic (ongoing) constipation
  • Straining during bowel movements
  • Diarrhea
  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Sitting too long on the toilet
  • Strenuous exercise or heavy lifting
  • Aging
  • Fissure

What Are Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are a specialized complex of soft tissue and blood vessels. Everyone is born with this complex which we believe was helpful in passage of BM’s in ancient humans. Today, however they are considered mostly vestigial (like the appendix). There are some investigators who do believe that normal hemorrhoids still help to withhold and somewhat control BM even though we know that this is the primary function of the anal musculature (sphincter). The abnormal hemorrhoid complex produces different symptoms and problems depending on location. And it is quite best to go for a natural hemorrhoid treatment if in case you come across with this problem.

Since hemorrhoid enlargement is typically related to a sort of “backpressure” from the inside out, we can better understand how abnormal outside or “external” hemorrhoids are caused from the inside or “internal” hemorrhoids. This is why successful treatment of abnormal hemorrhoids primarily depends on reducing the blood flow to the internal hemorrhoids. Once the internal hemorrhoids are adequately treated, the external hemorrhoids will usually respond as well. Typical symptoms of problematic external hemorrhoids include the sudden development of a “marble”-like structure with associated discomfort. This is what is known as an external thrombotic hemorrhoid. This condition is usually self-limited and resolves within a couple of weeks’ time. Excision is reserved for cases where there is significant pain.

Recurrence is common until the internal hemorrhoids are treated since the broken vessel causing the clot comes from too much pressure internally. The other more difficult to treat condition affecting the external hemorrhoids is chronic recurrent swelling causing small and large tags over time. In other words the blood vessels become swollen and continue to stretch out the overlying skin unless the internal hemorrhoids causing pressure to the external hemorrhoids are treated early enough. Internal hemorrhoids do prolapse or fall out which is frequently mistaken as external hemorrhoids. In fact, these hemorrhoids actually belong up inside. The prolapse can be treated if caught early enough, by reducing the circulation to the internal hemorrhoids. This can allow reduction in size so the prolapsing internal hemorrhoids to recede back into the anus. So, if you are looking for an affordable hemorrhoid treatment and pain relief then Dr. Butler’s is a good choice to opt for.

Other common symptoms of internal hemorrhoids include bright red rectal bleeding, and itching. Complications of internal hemorrhoids include anal narrowing, tears (fissures), proctitis (inflammation), and even infections (if the anal glands become blocked). Internal hemorrhoids can even trigger bowel habit changes and irritability since the nervous system will misinterpret signals being sent from the anus and rectum. In other words, the brain cannot tell the difference between large hemorrhoids and feces within the rectal vault causing many changes to occur in the gastrointestinal tract.

What Are Anal Fissures?

Anal tears are one of the most common causes of anorectal pain. Tears are often associated with trauma, e.g., passage of a hard stool, but can also occur during bouts of diarrhea, childbirth, or ulceration of a hemorrhoid. The most common symptom of an anal tear is pain at bowel movement, which can be quite severe and last for some time.

Anal fissures are tears which develop inflammation located in the lining of the distal anal canal, usually along the middle back and are produced when acute anal tears do not heal. The exact causes of anal fissures remain unknown, however Dr. Cutler has hypothesized that fissures are a symptom of another condition such as proctospasm, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel or any other condition causing too few or too many bowel movements which cause an environment which prohibit tears from otherwise healing. If you have such condition and are looking for a cure for anal fissure then Doctor Butler’s treatment for anal fissures can help you in healing.

Chronic Anal Conditions

Chronic anal fissures have not been typically responsive to conservative medical therapy, and therefore current treatments are frequently directed at surgical techniques. Treatment for anal fissures occurs following surgery in many cases however, a large number of people experience significant pain and some incontinence (weakened muscle) following the surgical procedure.
The Doctor Butler’s formulated therapy was physician developed from years of practical application and testing. At Doctor Butler’s, we have recognized a medical need for effective, non-surgical and natural hemorrhoid treatment, treatment of fissures, and other conditions requiring a topical (body surface) therapy. We have discovered compositions which interact together particularly in connection with treatment of these anorectal disorders as well as in wound healing. Ingredients which provide reduction of swelling and are synergistically designed to: Reduce Discomfort, Promote Healing, Protect, Improve Circulation, and promote Antimicrobial Activity (against bacteria, fungus and virus).

Some of the theories applied in the creation of this product can be referred to as “traditional” medicine. At Doctor Butler’s we sought input from “Eastern” or Chinese Medical Practitioners, to obtain even greater, more effective products. Using powerful, natural herbs with mineral & essential amino acids, we were able to “Bio-enhance” the products making them the strongest available over the counter natural hemorrhoid treatment method.

Diagnosing Anal Fissures

Digital examination: If the patient has anal fissures then the patient can go through either digital examination or visual examination. During this process, the doctor will be inserting a lubricated glove inside the patient’s rectum to feel any unusual growth.

Visual examination: If the patient is going through anal fissure issue then the patient can also go through a visual examination. In this, the doctor may also do a proper examination of the lower portion of the colon using an anoscope, proctoscope or they can even use a sigmoidoscope.

Medication

It may happen that if you are experiencing a mild discomfort owing to the fissures then your doctor might be suggesting you with effective over the counter Anorectal cream and anal fissure ointment. The ointments might be containing ingredients such as hydrocortisone and lidocaine which is quite helpful in relieving pain and itching of the patient. However, it also needs to be noticed that the over the counter cream must not be used for more than a week until it has been directed by the doctor. Otherwise, it can also prove to be harmful.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS is by definition a group of symptoms related to constipation and diarrhea of an unknown cause. At Doctor Butler’s we provide affordable irritable bowel syndrome treatment to our patients.

This is to be differentiated from bowel disorders caused by identifiable problems. There can be many causes for irritable bowel syndrome such as lactose intolerance, milk allergy, diverticulosis, celiac disease, colitis, thyroid disorders and others.

What Dr. Cutler has found is that many rectal disorders contribute to bowel irritability since it is difficult for the nervous system to differentiate between a BM and other rectal issues such as larger hemorrhoids, proctospasm, irritations, etc., all of which can cause increased peristalsis (or increased bowel mobility). Regardless of the cause, this increase in bowel motility will cause multiple daily bowel movements and create an acidic environment causing the underlying cause of the problem to get even worse.

Therefore, it is very important to reduce ano-rectal swelling and irritation as well as avoiding irritants such as caffeine, milk and excessive alcohol from the diet. It is also important to consider temporary use of an over the counter medication designed to reduce the frequency of BM’s until Doctor Butler’s can effectively reduce the irritation and swelling from its source.

Diagnosing Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Firstly, to diagnose if you have irritable bowel syndrome or not the doctor will be checking the patient for the symptoms and will also be checking the family history of the patient. Other than that, the doctor might be doing certain tests such as:

Blood test

A health care professional would be taking blood samples of the patient and further sending it to the lab. After which the doctor will be checking the conditions other than the IBS which might be inclusive of anemia and digestive diseases.

Stool test

Under stool test, the doctor or the concerned person will be offering you with a container for your stool sample. Primarily the doctors use stool samples for checking blood in your stool for checking any signs of disease.

Other tests

The doctors might also perform certain other tests which they might find suitable according to the patients need and health issue.

Medication

If you are going through an irritable bowel syndrome then your doctors might recommend you with:

  • Loperamide
  • Rifaximin
  • Eluxadoline
  • Alosetron (Lotronex) , which is prescribed only to women and is prescribed with special warnings and precautions

If the condition is with constipation then the doctor may recommend:

  • Fiber supplements
  • Laxatives
  • Lubiprostone
  • Linaclotide
  • Plecanatide

Doctor Butler’s Hemorrhoid & Fissure Ointment 8 step plan to “Leave the Pain Behind”

  1. Apply Doctor Butler’s ointment before and after bowel movements and again at bedtime, up to three times daily.
  2. Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily and follow a high fiber diet which includes whole wheat cereals, bran, fruits and vegetables. Try to limit spicy foods, nuts, seeds, corn, popcorn, caffeine, milk and alcohol.
  3. Use a psyllium bulking agent available at grocery stores.
  4. If you are having firm bowel movements, drink two Tablespoons of mineral oil daily as a lubricant (for two weeks only since it has been known to decrease vitamin absorption when taken long term).
  5. If you suffer from a) External Hemorrhoids and/or b) External Irritation, the following options should be considered between applications of Doctor Butler’s ointments.
    1. If you have a sudden onset of External Hemorrhoids, soak cotton balls in comfortably warm witch hazel and apply for 15 minutes, 3 to 4 times daily. For quick temporary relief from pain, consider applying a small amount of ointment containing menthol. Also consider use of an ice pack.
    2. For External Irritation use a zinc oxide ointment like Doctor Butler’s Advanced Formula and take oatmeal sitz baths as needed.
  6. If symptoms persist, this may indicate the presence of an anal fissure. You may wish to try mixing Doctor Butler’s Hemorrhoid & Fissure Ointment: Advanced Protection & Prevention Formula with an over the counter antibiotic ointment. Insert using a gloved finger.
  7. If irritation occurs with the use of Doctor Butler’s ointments, stop external use and reduce the amount of ointment being applied internally. If condition becomes worse, discontinue use.
  8. More than two bowel movements a day can be a symptom of irritability which can create a high level of acidity. This can affect the ability to heal. Avoid caffeine, milk and excessive alcohol. Using an over the counter anti-diarrhea medication may reduce the frequency of bowel movements on a temporary basis.

Important Information

Long standing external hemorrhoids represent skin which has been stretched over time. It’s a problem for some people since there is extra skin in the area which causes difficulty for proper hygiene. Doctor Butlers applied internally will shrink internal blood vessels which actually cause external flare ups to begin. While Doctor Butler’s will prevent further progression in most cases, the only way eliminate chronic long standing stretched out skin is by removing it. Starting with Doctor Butlers when someone first notices symptoms will, in most cases, prevent this from occurring since tissue which becomes swollen and stays swollen becomes stretched out. Skin which is swollen from underlying dilated blood vessels will go back to normal, but only if treated early enough.
