Depending on your medication history, you will want to consult with your doctor on what medications can wait until after the procedure. Mostly, you will hold off on certain medications but still be allowed to take acetaminophen a few days prior if needed.

Hydrate

Stay hydrated during this process. While it is not completely necessary to begin the preparation more than a week in advance, it is wise to up your water intake. This will ensure that your body stays hydrated as it gets your bowels moving.

Supplies

The day(s) before the procedure, be sure to stock up on liquid such broth and other clear liquids. Use soft tissue only and If you are prone to having external hemorrhoids and use a hemorrhoid cream, consult your physician for their advice on care.

Bowel Prep Drink & Day Before

The day before the procedure, you will be required to drink a laxative preparatory drink to release your bowels for a more accurate reading the following day. Wear comfortable clothing and stay close to the bathroom this day. Rest and relax while occupying yourself with books and low-key activities.
